2007 Regional Prayer & Fasting Conference
Saturday, February 10, 2007 - AM Session
The second session of the conference was opened shortly after 10:00am on Saturday morning, February 10, 2007 by Brother Danny Carter, Regional Overseer of The Church of God for Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.
Brother Carter opened the session by honoring the Media Team and their accomplishments in recording and making videos available of all of our Prayer Conferences and other events to anyone who desires to have them. We viewed a video promotion of this Prayer Conference that Brother Ryan Carter has put together based on a song by the Smith Family entitled “Just Stand”. What a powerful video this has turned out to be, and what a blessing it was to this conference to be able to see this video.
This video ( http://206.246.140.179/1foldpromo.html ) has been emailed to 106 individuals around the world, and is available to anyone who would like to order a copy simply by contacting Brother Ryan Carter. The Media Team encompasses audio/video of all of our conferences, the 1Fold.com, .net, and .org website and the 1Fold News (our regional paper). We appreciate very much the efforts of our Media Team (Ryan Carter, Jeff Wilcox, Randy Goodin, and Regina Goodin).
Brother Carter called for as many as could to join him at the front of the auditorium for prayer. Brother Clarence Wilcox, Sister Kendricks, and Brother Weidener each lead individual prayers to begin this session of prayer. This was followed by congregational prayer with different ones coming to the microphone to prayer as the felt the unction the Holy Ghost. Brother Carter, Sister White, and Brother Sanchez each felt the leading of the Holy Ghost to pray.
All of the saints joined hands as they were led in another prayer by Brother Carter. What a glorious presence of God we felt throughout this time of prayer blessing every soul as we cried out to God for His direction and for His Confirmation. Sister Carter led the congregation in singing “There Shall Be One Fold”. What an anointing from the Holy Ghost accompanied the singing of this song.
Brother Edwards led the congregation in a time of devotion taken from Isaiah 35:3-10 followed by Sister Edwards leading the congregation in singing “What a Mighty God We Serve” and “Prayer Bells of Heaven”.
The Goodin Girls (Jordan, Whitney, and Mallory) were a great blessing to the conference by singing “Faith, Hope, and Love”. These girls are a blessing every time they sing.
Brother Carter then called the Conference to pray for the many needs for healing that have been called in to him during the conference. There are those who are unable to attend due to illness and others who have called for the express purpose of asking the people in this conference to pray for them.
Sister Benningfield then sang “Called Out”. We are a called out people. We have been called out to follow the voice of the Shepherd.
Brother Brenizer brought the message for the session this morning entitled “Confirming the Covenant”. To confirm means to make valid for formal approval; to ratify; to firmly establish; and to verify.

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee

in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy

seed after thee.

3 And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain,

saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;

4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings,

and brought you unto myself.

5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye

shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the

words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their

faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.

8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken

we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.
The covenant that we make with God, with The Church of God, and with one another will help us through when the battles rise against us. When we make our covenant with God, He in turns makes a covenant with us. As long as we keep His commandments and walk in His ways we will be His people and He will be our God. By this we know that He will bear us through the hard times and He will fight our battles for us.

25 When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have

remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven

image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD

thy God, to provoke him to anger:

26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon

utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye

shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

27 And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few

in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.
It does not pay to disobey God. However, by the same token, obeying God reaps great rewards and benefits. This is further expressed in Deuteronomy 11:26 – 28:

26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I

command you this day:

28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God,

but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other

gods, which ye have not known.
God will bless those who obey His commandments, but He will curse those who will not obey His commandments, but turn aside after other gods. When we accept some other form of government than theocratic government, which is God ruled, then are we not turning aside to go after other gods. Hmmmmmm. It is certainly something to think on.

14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them

his covenant.
The secret that David is talking about here is The Church of God. We must fear God, which means we must reverence Him, with our whole hearts. We are all on God’s spiritual time table. There is no time for us not to fear God if we hope to make heaven our home.

2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to

you-ward:

3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore

in few words,

4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of

Christ)

5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now

revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
The mystery of Christ spoken of in this scripture is once again The Church of God, the same secret that David mentions in Psalms 25. As we can read in Ephesians chapter 5, the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the Church. A husband and a wife are joined together by covenant. Before the covenant they were two, but once they have joined in the marriage covenant they become one flesh in the eyes of God.
When we take our covenant to join The Church of God we then become one with the Church and every other member of the Church. We become a part of the body; we become one with the body. Our covenant is a perpetual covenant that will not be forgotten. The covenant that we took causes us to stand for God’s truth; it causes us to contend for the faith.
Now more than ever before we must stick with God’s truth. We must stick to His truth closer than we ever have before. There are those who will try to deceive the very elect of God and lead us astray, but as long as we continue to follow the leading and direction of the Holy Ghost, and do not give in to man’s thinking, we will not be deceived. There is no room for backing up now. Jesus Christ is our Captain; He is leading us; He has led us all along the way; He will not lead us astray or in the wrong direction; and as long as we continue to follow after Him we will be on the right path.
God knows His own, and is known by His own. He will never leave us or forsake us. We will still face many battles, but God will never fail us nor will we have to face or endure more than we are able to bear. These are promises given to us by God in His word. We know they are true and we firmly stand on the truth of God’s word.
The Church of God is not exactly where she needs to be right now, but God has said that He will do a short and a quick work in His time. His time is the right time; He is never late; He will always be on time.

7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces,

as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and

unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither

thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed

against thee.
When God truly does something it will be done exactly right. There will be no faces of confusion, because God is not the author of confusion. There will be no “buddy system”, or “politics”, or “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” that will come into play; all will be according to God’s plan and time table.
Some folks tell us we can not be The Church because we have no General Overseer, but God has a man, and He will Confirm His man once The Church of God gets serious about being The Church of God, which means that theocratic government must be restored. God will not bless a mess, and He will not put His man over a people who have no desire to serve Him but would rather follow after a man.
Some say that we can not be The Church because we have no government. We have the exact same government that we always have. We follow the same teachings that the church has always followed, we live by the same covenant that we have always lived by, and we serve the same God that we have always served. The government that we have right now is exactly the same government that AJ Tomlinson had in 1923 when the majority of the church accepted the Constitution, thus separating the church from theocratic government.
If we stick to our covenant, no matter who does what, or who says what, we will make heaven our home some day.
This session of the conference was closed out by the congregation going before the Lord seeking a clear and definite direction for The Church of God.
